You can do it!

Here’s the progress. Check out the negative slope on the difference lately. That shows how much faster you’re working than original target pace.

Jon’s Novel

Here is my chart of Jon’s progress toward his NaNoWriMo goal. Keep up the good work Jon!

Hmmm, that was odd

I have various random subscriptions to ancestry.com. They are set to auto-renew each year. Unlike most things that do this (or so it seems) they give you fair warning about upcoming renewals. Unfortunately, to cancel you have to talk to people. Luckily they have extremely friendly people on their phones. The immigration collection was set to renew on November 18th. The big package was set for the 20th. Since I’ve found extremely little use in the immigration collection (mostly because I think 90% of my ancestors where here in the 17th century), it wasn’t worth the $80. I called just to cancel that one. Not only did they do that, they asked if I wanted to renew the other package at that time at a $20 discount *and* including the other random subscription I am maintaining for free until November ‘06. This was the subscription that was already set to auto-renew in a couple weeks at full price without the other subscription. Um, yeah, I’ll take that. (Of couse now I could re-subscribe to the immigration collection for $40, so there is still that flaw.)

I was poking around on the site again last night. It just keeps getting better and better. They did a good job of listening to people on a recent survey. I just wish I had more time.
